In her old school, the Easter hats were made at school thus relieving the parents of making it themselves. Because, let’s face it, most of the time it’s the parents who make these hats.
This year is the first year that we are making the Easter hat at home because that’s how they do it at her new school. I was warned by one of the parents that it could get competitive. I wasn’t surprised. I was already expecting it.
I promised myself I wouldn’t get carried away. I love craft. I love creating stuff. This is very exciting stuff for me. And in the end, I did get carried away. I only just recently bought a glue gun and I used it on the hat – like there was no tomorrow.
And I admit it, I enjoyed making it more than my daughter did. But I already expected that.
For the materials, we got:
A white hat
Styrofoam eggs of different sizes
Green felt paper
Green glittery pompoms
Little bunny pompoms
Twigs from the backyard
The theme was forest of chicks and bunnies and eggs. And I just stuck everything on to there. Shocked hubby but delighted my little girl.
My work here is done.
