My year starts really slow in the kitchen. After weeks of being on holidays and not cooking everyday, you kinda don’t want to cook for a while.
Having the Tefal Cuisine Companion came in very handy during these moments because I pretty much chuck all ingredients in, press the button and sit down to play on my iPad. Or read (but in reality, I play more during the day).
One afternoon, I decided to make Spaghetti Bolognese by chucking everything in CC and pressing slow cook. It’s my own recipe that I normally cook stove top. It didn’t occur to me that it’s much easier cooking in CC.
First I finely chopped two carrots in the Cuisine Companion then added the:
Tin of organic tomatoes
A bit of sugar
And then pressed Slow Cook. Took 30 minutes for it to be finished and I didn’t even have to raise a finger.
The other thing was dessert (of course). I’ve always wanted to make pies but didn’t know the basic crust to make for them. Also, I could buy from the shops but then I forget it in the freezer and by the time I check it’s already all crusty.
The shortbread pastry recipe on the accompanying recipe book was easy as. Took me less than 10 minutes to get it done. I lessened the sugar from the recipe, but it still tasted good. Then I searched for an easy pie to go along with it and found this really quick Banana Cream pie. It was a big hit with the family.
I’m starting to look forward to more cooking this year.
Disclosure: I received a complimentary Cuisine Companion from Tefal for this partnership.
