Let’s cut to the chase. I heart Dyson. I once asked my husband to buy me a Dyson upright vacuum cleaner for Christmas/birthday gift. Then I asked someone to pay me a Dyson handheld vacuum cleaner for some work I did for her when our cordless died on us.
Dyson is like the Apple of vacuum cleaners and the DC59 Animal didn’t disappoint. Our house has tile, floorboards and carpet so I was able to test the new handstick (that’s the technical category for it) in all sorts of floors. The DC59 was great in all situations and it helped me keep up with the needed daily cleaning. It was easy to just roam around each room, pushing the handstick around and watching all the dog fur get sucked into it. Because of its long nozzle, I also didn’t have a problem sucking up dead cockroaches (ewwww).
I usually sweep the floor using a broom. Not a big fan as the dog fluff kept getting blown back into the room. But the DC59 solved that problem and created an easier way for me to just suck up daily messes – dog fur, food on the floor, leaves dragged from outside, yarn cuttings, crumbs and so on.
It was easy to transition from carpet to floorboards to tile with the DC59. For the carpet, it is good enough to be used as a daily clean up. But I preferred the upright DC50 for a deeper clean on the carpeted room every week or so.
Hubby was enthusiastic in trying out the different heads and which ones fit which areas well. By the time he finished with the bedroom, everything was dust free. I really should let him loose with the Dyson more often.
According to their site, the DC59 cordless vacuum cleaner is powered by the Dyson digital motor V6. “This 350W motor, 2 Tier Radial™ cyclones and a re-engineered nickel manganese cobalt battery combine to provide powerful suction. The latest motorised head with carbon fibre filaments aids in achieving high dust removal. Together, these four technologies enable DC59 to remove as much dust as a mains-powered vacuum cleaner.”
Whatever technology it is they used, it works. It does remove as much dust as mains-powered vacuum cleaners. The battery lasts long enough for me to finish the whole house and more. Since you can bolt it to your wall, it’s easy to just plug and pick up for those daily messes.
Overall, I’m very happy with the DC59. I’m always happy with my Dyson products though. It’s hard to change brands when you’ve tried the good ones.
