I received a sample product for this but, as usual, the opinions are my own.
Ironing made easy. It’s made especially for me, I reckon.
For the record, I do the ironing in the house. We pick one chore each that we detest and we trade. I hate filling and emptying the dishwasher. I really hate it. Like super hate it. Not sure why.
Hubby doesn’t like ironing, which is tricky because most of the time the only thing that needs ironing are his work shirts. I like ironing though. I get to watch something while doing a chore at the same time so it’s not bad for me. I only do it every fortnight too (I made hubby buy two weeks’ worth of work clothes so I didn’t have to iron each week).
But after trying out the Philips PerfectCare Aqua, I am really enjoying ironing more. Seriously.
With the PerfectCare Aqua, ironing is heaps faster. It is much lighter and doesn’t need adjustments when you iron different types of garments. I found myself ironing clothes much faster. There are a lot of technical terms like OptimalTemp technology and SteamGlide soleplate that I don’t understand. All I know is that whatever they did, it works. There’s a button for extra steam boost but I found that the normal steam is enough for my load of ironing.
I know ironing is probably the least likeable chore for people. I understand that others might not have the same attitude towards ironing as I do. I actually categorise it as “me time” because I get to watch the shows I want to watch. And now it’s even better because the actual chore is much easier. But if you detest ironing, then the Aqua will shorten that ordeal for you.
It has a powerful continuous stream with just a push of a button. You can also do vertical steam with your clothes – just make sure you’re not wearing it while you’re steaming.
Hubby tried it out and liked it as well. I wouldn’t go as far as to say he enjoys ironing with it but it definitely cuts his ironing time (he is suuuppper slow).
Unlike my old iron, the PerfectCare Aqua can be placed horizontally on the ironing board without burning it. It makes ironing easier but it took a couple of times before I got used to not putting the iron up vertically.
Storage might be a problem for those with little space because of the size of the water tank. But I managed to push aside some things in the laundry room to accommodate it.
Overall, I give the PerfectCare Aqua two thumbs up. It’s like having a professional ironing service at home.
Note: The PerfectCare Aqua stopped working over a year after trial. If this happens to you, contact their customer service.
