Everything happens at the same time

  • We weren’t supposed to be moving yet because both houses we applied for declined our application. So we were looking forward to a relaxing visit from my stepson and MIL. Instead, we got a call back from one of the agents to say we actually got the house and we can move in two weeks. Then a couple of days later, the second house agent called to say we got the other house too. So that was that.
  • My MIL and stepson got stuck helping us with the move – a double-edged sword. On one hand it was good to have extra help. On the other hand, it was stressful feeding extra people while doing house moves and trying to ensure that they got to do enjoyable things as well and not just house moving (which wasn’t easy because it’s really hard to function in a house that’s not really done unpacking).
  • I finished a bottle of Jack Daniels Honey. Well, not really. Maybe 50 per cent of it. Or 65 per cent. Something like that.
  • It was also that time of the month and since I forgot to take my non psychotic PMS tablets, I was going ballistic on hubby every couple of seconds.
  • MiniMe got sick on top of my lingering cough, all while moving houses.
  • The cleaners for the old house didn’t know what they were doing and destroyed the oven because they used the wrong stuff to clean it. You’d think cleaners know what they’re doing eh?
  • My stepson had to go back to Perth for a couple of days after he got here for his holiday because someone in his extended family died in her sleep. (I mean, really? Really universe?!)
  • Hubby’s work called him to say he needed to do a two-day training in Melbourne because there was no other schedule for it. So he had to leave me, MiniMe, MIL, and his son to fend for ourselves in the middle of an unpacked house – with three people coughing and sniffly. There wasn’t a thing he could do.
  • Not to mention my usual deadlines and interviews.
  • At least we got to watch Ice Age 4, 3D for free and also got to see the spectacular Disney on Ice.

All in one week. Everything happens at the same time.

  2. Oh Hon. You have had it bad huh?! I want some positive points next week though, even if it’s a sunset or bubbles or something we’ve all seen on a blog so many times (p.s I’m one of those that have posted bubbles I think)
