I’ve been itching to write about this for a very long time. I’ve been itching to scream about it for a really long time. And now I can.
That logo on Digital Parents? That’s mine. Yep, I made that with my own two little hands.
How exactly? Well, the workaholic Mummy Time asked me to doodle around to see if inspiration strikes me prior to the rebranding of Aussie Mummy Bloggers, but I kept telling her I don’t know how to use Adobe Illustrator. I’m a journo, and only a mediocre designer. I’ve never even used Illustrator before! But she was relentless! So finally I gave in and experimented on Illustrator with an idea that’s been slowly forming in my head.
And voila! A product on my first go. Bec was great enough to add the final touches for me.
Basically, I only tried Illustrator because Mummy Time pushed asked me to. And honestly, I’m glad she did. She pushed me to try something that I might be good at but too afraid to try in case I failed (you know how it is). But she probably saw something I didn’t see and so she kept pushing. And now, it’s there. I love seeing that it’s there, on the forum, on the buttons on other people’s blogs, and soon in conferences too. It is surreal. Absolutely.
I haven’t touched Illustrator since then but one day, I might try it again.
Moi, a workaholic??? You don’t say. Hehehe.

WOW! That is impressive. I always liked how it incorporated two and one and it is so inclusive.
I’ve always been amazed by the special gift some people have to hone in on others special gifts. How they are able to move them, encourage them and help get them into a space where they can grow. There aren’t many people like that. I wonder how they have that ability to see something that is hidden from the view of most people. What is it about them?
